We purposely don’t slice market data beyond what’s available in Kamsa’s Market Data Cut options (e.g., by a narrow employee size range or sub-industry) because the data set becomes too small and unreliable.
Clients generally don’t want data that’s more granular than what Kamsa provides because it then doesn't align with the true talent pool they recruit from. For example, companies typically don’t hire Software Engineers or People roles from just a narrow sub-industry or revenue range; instead, they hire from a broader set of comparable companies.
That’s why we intentionally avoid overly narrow cuts (like SaaS only or by Series stage), with the main exception being executive roles, where revenue-based cuts can be more appropriate.
Narrower cuts tend to introduce false precision rather than clarity, whereas our market data reflects how you actually hire - across adjacent sub-industries, stages, and similar company sizes to your own.
