Overview

The Cultivate Your People tool helps managers make informed pay decisions when promoting or transferring an employee. It’s especially useful between Compensation Reviews.

How It Works

  • When you select an employee, the profile shows:

    • Current Company/Business Title

    • Kamsa Job Match and Job Level

    • Location and Market Data Cut

  • The employee’s Kamsa Department and Job Family are automatically selected. You can adjust these from the dropdown to view the full Kamsa database job list.

Promotions and Transfers

  • For promotions, Kamsa compares the employee’s current Base Salary to a typical 10% promotion increase for the new role.

  • The tool displays:

    • Market midpoint

    • Market percentile

    • Compa-ratio
      … for both the employee’s current role and the newly selected role (Base Salary and Total Cash).

  • For relocations, such as moving from San Francisco to a remote U.S. role, update the Market Data Cut to see compensation data for the new location.

  • All ranges are displayed in local currency.

Custom Scenarios

  • Use the Custom button to open a slideout “scratchpad.”

  • Here, you can test different Base Salary or Total Cash amounts to target a specific compa-ratio.

Finding Jobs in the Tool

If you can’t find the job you’re looking for in Cultivate Your People:

  1. Search by keyword in the New Kamsa Match field after selecting an employee.

  2. Browse by Department and Job Family. Select a different Department from the dropdown, then choose a Job Family to view and select jobs from that category.
